We created the experiential installation FLOWER PAD for HANABANASAI, a festival of fashion and technology presented by Isetan Mitsukoshi.
FLOWER PAD is a musical device that allows users to experience performing a combination of sound and image.
When the pad is manipulated, colorful floral images appear along with sounds and melodies. Inspired by the 2016 collection theme "STREET STYLE × DIGITAL FLOWER,” the graphics express the beauty of flowers from the cellular level. This is accompanied by sounds and melodies that create a STREET STYLE ambience. These overlap, allowing users to experience a performance where they can feel organic nuances and rhythms in a digital context. The device is designed, overall, in the image of a flower. The pad uses a trusty AKAI MPC sampling machine.
